The brief from our client was to create concept design options for the ground floor and garden renovation of their newly purchased existing two level property in central London.
STYLE | Contemporary interpretation of 'Mid Century Modern'. Taking inspiration from selected MCM upcycled furniture pieces (to be sourced locally by client), building around the style of those pieces to create a cohesive mood. New items, such as the custom built WFH wall unit in the lounge area, should be in similar toned timber. Colour palette is lots of warm mid toned wood with olive green accents such as the lounge and plants, combined with black and warm white elements.
Our garden design incorporates built-in seating, a fire pit and a feature wall which can simply line the existing fence. There is a mix of structured planting with a stone pathway as well as room for a raised herb garden, a few larger established trees eg. olive, magnolia or pear. Climbing evergreen jasmine will also help to create the lush oasis vibe all year round.
Considered garden lighting is integral to the mood of this design.
